Kitchen, Notebook, Memory:
A Writing Retreat inspired by the Five Senses
Coming March 2011
"Bambooland," Santa Barbara, CA

Come write with us in Santa Barbara, an inspired place to write and a wonderful area to play.
Plan a weekend away, March  2011.

Our five senses can be sparks to memories: childhood and life experiences. At this all day retreat, we will utilize our senses as prompts for writing. We'll listen to Asian poetry and food stories, take in the color of our environs, hold pieces of the bamboo forest and use our taste buds when we venture into Skip's kitchen. We'll take our minds and our pens on a writing journey.

Skip's home, (which he shares with co-hosts Robert and Carlos) is lovingly referred to as "Bambooland." Located in the Mission Canyon area of Santa Barbara, the setting is a Japanese style Ryokan, surrounded
by a 40 year-old bamboo forest, complete with a koi pond.

The retreat is limited to twelve people, and include an optional cocktail gathering on Friday evening, writing workshop all day Saturday ,  light lunch and dinner on Saturday night. The fee for the retreat is $350; a non-refundable $150 deposit is required to hold your place,
and the full amount must be received by January 31, 2011.
